The PRIMET Board employs a General Secretary to manage the organisation and progress its aims.

Dennis is the CEO of MeteoIQ, a company that analyses, develops and advises with weather intelligence. He joined MeteoGroup in 1993 starting his career working as a forecaster and in meteorological development before moving into management. Dennis studied meteorology at the Freie Universität Berlin.

KARL GUTBROD
Meteoblue

Karl is an entrepreneur, manager and university lecturer. He was co-founder and CEO of meteoblue from 2007 to 2024, after 25 years of experience in international agri-business, as project and unit leader in development, product management, marketing, business development and information services. Karl has worked for GTZ, DED, Ciba, Novartis and Syngenta. He has lived and worked in Germany, Switzerland, United States, Brasil, Thailand, and China.
Karl holds a PhD in agronomy from the University of Göttingen. In addition to his day job, he teaches courses on International Business Strategy and Innovation Management at the University of Cooperative Education Baden-Württemberg, supervises Bachelor students there, and is member of the Economics and Research Commissions. Since 2018, he also serves as director on the Board of PRIMET.

Renny is DTN Vice President of Weather Operations, is responsible for developing strategic direction for customers in the aviation, energy, offshore, shipping, transportation, and sports & safety markets, as well as providing leadership to more than 200 operational meteorologists in weather forecast rooms around the world. He started his meteorology career started as a broadcast meteorologist in Meridian, Mississippi and Kansas City, Missouri and holds a master’s degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University

Marine Weather Intelligence

Christian is the CEO of Marine Weather Intelligence and sailing has always been his passion. He has co-founded several companies, mainly related to weather routing and safety at sea. MWI uses AI to improve weather forecasting at sea and marine weather routing. MWI also works for all major sailing events. Christian has been involved in marine weather routing for 30 years.

Jörg holds a doctorate in meteorology and has more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of atmospheric science, remote sensing, and technical system development. His professional background spans leading roles in ESA, DLR, and EUMETSAT projects, with a strong focus on project management, quality assurance, and the integration of complex sensing technologies for environmental and aerospace applications. He has worked extensively in both scientific institutions and the private sector, managing interdisciplinary teams and delivering customized solutions in fields ranging from satellite meteorology to automotive sensor systems. In addition to his professional work, he is deeply committed to fostering scientific dialogue and community engagement. From 2026 on, he chairs the German Meteorological Society and he acts as Vice President of the European Meteorological Society.</span>
